   Features
  • MAW (Metzeler Advanced Winding) technology
  • The profile shape, inspired by the Greek letter "Pi", maximizes the flexibility of the profile, thus ensuring an optimum tire footprint under in all conditions
  • The 3-zone-tension Interact ™ Technology gives outstanding mileage and sporty cornering grip
  • Multi Zone Tension technology, new updated tread profiles and functional tread pattern place the Z8 Roadtec Interact at the top of the sport touring tire class
  • M-Spec and O-Spec tires feature a bi-compound design
  • 8% wider final footprint area than its predecessor due to the variation of steel belt tensions and a strategically placed tread pattern which optimizes pressures in the footprint area
  • FCM (Fine Carbon Mix) High Silica compound with Nano particles ensures performance and safety in all weather conditions
  • Innovative tread pattern, a widened and more elliptical footprint and a host of wear-resistant technologies not normally seen in motorcycle tires give the Roadtec Z8 Interact its best-in-segment mileage and optimal wet performance throughout the tires life
  • New patented tread pattern with strategically placed longitudinal central grooves provide ideal drainage for more than 3/4 of all lean angles in the wet. The remaining tread grooves work to add tread flexibility, extending the footprint for stability in the dry
  • Updated design improves wear regularity which gives riders the benefit of a consistent riding performance across the tires entire life

Metzeler tires have been great tires in the past and I am hoping (since the Roadtec 01 doesn't come in the sizes I need) these Roadtec Z8's aren't old inventory

The Meltzer Z8 appears to be an ideal Sport Touring Tire for my older (1000 Concours) motorcycle.
Hoping to keep the good handling but get improved mileage over a std radial.
Ted A on Nov 19, 2018

I put in make and model which was 1988 suzuki gsxr 1100 and these were the tires that would fit.

Been riding on Metzlers for 16 years. Great traction wet or dry, high mileage, and very fair prices. For sport-touring, the Z8 Interact is an ideal tire.

I see where many of the few tires that fit my bike, (180 or 170/60 R17), come in "tubeless" offerings. Since I have a spoked rim that uses an inner-tube, I was wondering if it's ok to use a tubeless tire with a tube on a spoked rim.

Thanks,
Doug

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes you can use a tubeless tire with an inner tube, on a spoke type wheel. Nice tire!
So far these tires are doing really well on my ST1300. My last Metzeler’s only lasted 6000 miles. These are a different model. I would like to get at least 12000.

The Z8 is great but was hoping the Roadtec 01 came in these sizes
Have ridden these previously and enjoyed them and they lasted a good long time, but was really wnating to get a set of the roadtec 01. They do not come in St1300 sizes sadly.....

Great tires
I had Dunlop tire on my stock Honda CB1100 for 7000 miles. They both became worn and cupped on the sides. There was still good tread on the tires' center, but I do not want to chance it. Replacing the rear tire and not the front, I believe this may effect the handling of the bike. So I decided to replace both.
I heard about the Metzeler tires are part of Perelli group.
The compounds they use on the crown are a denser rubber, thus the tires should last longer on the center tread.
I ran Metzelers on My Harley Ultraglide Classic, and they were very smooth and responsive.
I am hoping to get a better ride and tread wear out of the Metzlers.
Right now the bike runs smooth at all speeds and handles the coroners a little slower on the turns but over all they appear to be good.

The cost, availability of the tires, and the delivery were amazing.
Bike Bandit is the only company that I found that had a matching set of tires for my CB1100.
Thanks for being there for me!!!

Good tire so far
Got a set of z8 tires for my K1100rs se. Just mounted and balanced the front and it handles very well. Will mount the rear in about a month. Bike Bandit prices were great and shipping was faster than any other online order that I have had. Highly recommend them. We will see how the z8s wear and perform.

Best tires for ST1300 per Motorad magazine
What do I know ??
Nothing, but others do...and these awesome tires are rated the best in the world for my deluxe ride.
They also make a 18" front tire for it as many others do not.
Have used Metzelers for several decades now...no complaints.
