I chose this tire to move towards a more road-friendly tread as my previous tires (Shinko 804/805's) had more of an aggressive tread than what I needed with my 2006 Triumph Scrambler. The Shinkos were 50/50 (On road/Off road) whereas these Michelin Anakee 3's are a comfy 80/20, much more suitable for on road.
Ben A on Apr 22, 2019
I choose these tires because the review on them was very good.
Donna H on Apr 12, 2019
Reviews indicate tires lasting a very long time compared to others

I've tried many other brand tires for my Suzuki Dl650a over the past 10 years. I commute 4 days a week year round @ 20K miles a yr. I have found the Anakee 3 rear lasts a little over 20K miles and the front lasts almost 40K miles. They have excellent grip in the rain. Definitely a road tire, don't think they'd do well on dirt. They corner well and ride smooth. Excellent value.

Had Bridgestone Battlax, Metzler Tourance and Michelin Anakee 3 tires before, and like the Anakee 3's the best for mostly road riding..
ROY V on Mar 9, 2019
Good performing tires with maybe the best mileage, > 11K miles on a R1200 GSA
John M on Jan 23, 2019
My 2019 BMW R1250 GSA came with Metzler Karoo 3 and the road noise is unbearable so wanted to switch to road specific tires. I used Metzler Tourance on my previous 2007 GSA but the reviews and price for the Michelins made me want to give them a try. I will save my Karoo 3's for my next tour that includes dirt riding.

I have used Anakee 3s for my last 4 sets of tires on the Tiger Explorer. I see no reason to change. 10K miles per set if I am not just straight line commuting. Good grip. And, useable on FS roads. I wouldn't try real trails with these. That's what a dedicated dual sport is for.
William S on Sep 4, 2018
Need good traction on mountain roads with 21in. tire.
Roger M on Aug 28, 2018
Good performance, good wear.
Keith D on Aug 21, 2018
Prior use of that type of tire. Good mileage from this tire

The really rocky terrain in the Sacramento mountains is taking a toll on my harmony. I am 68 years old, had a back fusion, just leaning more towards highway riding.
Marshall P on Aug 16, 2018

I have a Michelin Anakee 2 rear on my VStrom 650 and it has provided excellent on road and off road stability and traction even in the wet. It wears like iron and performs like a rain tire in rain. Have used a different brand on front until now.... always cupping and needs frequent replacing. Will see how the Anakee 3 works for me.
Val C on Apr 5, 2018
Will try based on tire reviews

I have used Anakee tires on my 2005 DL650 for almost the entire 103,000 miles I've logged. Also put them on my wifes bike and now my send DL650. I liked the tread on the Anakee II better for sand/mud, but the III does have a better road feel.
Robert A on Jul 18, 2016
these are supposed to be the best tire in this class

I ride a 2014 S10. Great tires thus far
I chose this set bc of the 90/10 riding ratio, which fits my habits. Have only ridden a few weeks. Already the grip is noticeable and the ride is smooth. Michelin does things right, they always have.

90-10 more or less
My third set on 05 Tiger. Good road handling. Get about 6,000 miles before I feel they need changing. I could get more but I need margins and tires make the ride. These tires do not do well on mud and real loose surfaces but OK on gravel.

Sufficient for my needs
Rear tire tends to howl a little bit at 42 mph and again in the 60 mph range when new. If you don’t mind the sound, it’s otherwise a decent tire thus far.

Great handling
They are great took over 500 miles to wear off the little hairs. From miami to Washington DC trip over 1500miles with a stop by the dragon tail the handling is awesome. Recommend it for road traveling ONLY any grass or dirt will make tu go down.

Good for road and limited forest service use
I have the Anakee 3s on my Tiger Explorer. This is my 3rd set on that bike. They perform very well on the road for commuting and fun in the mountains. They are capable of off road use on forest service roads. But, let's face it unless you are capable of the Baja 1000, the Tiger Explorer is a big handful when the trail turns to muddy ruts or rocky climbs. It is much more comfortable on sandy washboards or firm but loose surfaces.

The Anakee 3s give good treadlife. But, the front cups a bit more than I like. It could be the setup on the Tiger.
