This will be my second Road 4 (Rear).
7,500 miles on the first, but looking at a long road trip, want new rubber on the rear before I start out. Front Road 4 still has plenty of wear left on it.
Have been very happy with the Road 4s. Next go-around, when need to replace front and rear, I'll go with the Road 5s.
Arne M on Mar 27, 2020
Replacement of same, had good experience with in past

Used Pilot Roads for the past several years. Great tire, responsive and such an upgrade to the OEM tires. Time for new ones!
Chris L on Oct 5, 2019
Good mileage on these tires. Just need a rear tire at the moment.
Benjamin M on Sep 17, 2019
Good sport bike grip that is consistent wet or dry and the tire even deals with gravel or sand in the road pretty well too. They are sport tires but still seem to last at least for a good while and they seem to keep their round profile better than most as they wear.

My bike had the stock tires on it when I bought it and they offered none of these things. Instead it was inconsistent grip wet or dry, lots of "oh moments.
D T on Jan 4, 2019
I have been used this tire for years very good handing and durability.
Ramon D on Dec 24, 2018
best long wearing sport tire I can find 92000 miles on bike
stephen w on Oct 22, 2018
Work well on dry and rainy roads. Good for a lot of miles.
Paul K on Sep 7, 2018
Prior experience with the version 2's.
Garret S on Aug 9, 2018
Previous experience with Pilot Road 3 was great. Long life >10k miles and great performance.
Road 4 has great reputation among other riders and I’m sure these will be equally good performers.
William S on Jul 27, 2018
The PR4's are highly recommended by the GRiSOGhetto riding community. I look forward to replacing my OEM Metzlers!
Donald R on Jul 17, 2018
I've used the Road 3 and wanted to try the newer model. Michelin is my favorite tire maker.
Jack W on Jul 10, 2018
It's the only tire I will buy. Great rain tire. Long lasting. Excellent grip.

James F on Jun 27, 2018
RECOMMENDED BY OTHER FJR OWNERS.
CB C on Jun 24, 2018
I live in the northwest and these have proved to have the best wet weather traction of any tire combo I have tried. I own a Kawasaki Concourse, 2011 model with 70K on it. Have tried other tires and always come back to Michelin.
Dale B on Jun 23, 2018
I ride on the Pilot Road 3's now and they are fantastic. I can only expect the 4's to be that much better (and for about the same price).
According to Michelin, these are better performers and last 20% longer than the 3's.
James C on Jun 17, 2018
I have had good service from this tire in the past
David K on Jun 15, 2018

william i on May 28, 2018

Willard S on May 21, 2018
They worked great. COuld push really hard.
TOM J on May 7, 2018
The same tire was on the bike - replacing a worn out one. The last one performed very well.
Davin M on May 7, 2018
The best
Miriel Q on May 2, 2018
The style of the tread pattern appears to be a great wet weather tire.
The tire description sounds like what I am looking for in a tire, high mileage & wet weather performance. I compared all brands in my sizes, and the price was slightly higher than the rest of the group, but chose this tire anyway.
Albert P on Apr 28, 2018
Used it before, best tire I have had for my R1200GS

Honda spec for the DN -01 for the front tire is 130/70 ZR17
Is it safe to replace it with a 120/70 ZR 17 tire 130 is very difficult to source?

I have Harley touring bike do they hold up .?
A shopper on Jun 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for the question. The Michelin Pilot Road 4 Motorcycle tires are very strong, durable, and long lasting but it really comes down to what kind of riding you do, how often you ride, and the conditions you ride in! As Richard puts it, they perform amazing in all conditions but last longer in the rain. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at [email protected], Live Chat or by phone toll-free at 1-888-339-3888. 3rd set of Pilot Roads
I tried a set of PR3s a few years ago based on a recommendations from several friends. I loved them. Great handling characteristics in all conditions. I switched over to the PR4s when they came out and was surprised how much better they were than the PR3s. I would have gone with the PR5s but I haven't heard any first hand reviews from trusted sources so, I went with what I know. BTW: I don't give anything a 5 rating but if I did these tires would get a 5.

Best sport touring tire
I’ve been using Michelins for over 20 years. I mounted these on my 1999 VFR Interceptor. They are rock solid, easy turn it, stable, adjustable mid corner, wet or dry. Everything you want in a sport touring tire.

reasons why you should buy these bad boys
i ride a fz07 and before the bike felt aggressive and you had to give force feed to make it lean. Now the bike wants to lean like crazy by itself and it increases the traction alot the only downside to these tires are they are not great for gravel roads but their ok

Best tire so far!
I have a Yamaha 2004 FJR1300 with 99K miles on it that I bought new in 2003. I ran the stock tires (Dunlop ?) for the first 16K miles, then switched to Avon because of the excessive cupping wear on the front tire. The Avon tires gave me better handling and less cupping, so I ran them until the FJR had 80K on it. Then, I switched on a friend's recommendation. He said the cupping would be even less than with my Avon tires. I've been running the Pilot Road 4 for 20K. The cupping is minimal and even the handling is a tick better than the Avon's..
