    Michelin Scorcher 31 Motorcycle Tire

The Michelin Scorcher 31 Motorcycle Tire was designed for comfort and handling. The Scorcher 31 will shine on long windy roads and since most of us riders enjoy longer rides Michelin added a few extra miles to the life of the tire, more than the competitors can say. With years of tire experience from racing to heavy machinery, it's no surprise Harley Davidson, one of the largest motorcycle manufactures in the world, has chosen the Michelin Scorcher 31 Motorcycle Tire as the tire most of their bikes come with. So it doesn't matter if you commute daily, ride the twisty mountains, love riding in the rain, the Michelin Scorcher 31 Motorcycle Tire is for you.

   Features
  • Exceptional comfort and handling: the supple casing design and profile promote nimble handling on winding roads
  • Long mileage: carbon black-enriched rubber compounds promote excellent durability without compromising performance
  • Innovative rubber compounds, incorporating know-how derived from Michelin's decades of road-racing experience, provide remarkable grip on both wet and dry roads
  • Supplied as original equipment on multiple Harley Davidson bikes.

The Scorcher 31 came standard on my 2016 Street Bob. I'm just replacing the front tire over 21,000 miles later. Great handling tires and great mileage, I see no reason to buy any other brand of tire.

These tires were on the Street Bob from the factory. I rode over 9,000 miles on these tires. The front tire is still good, the back needs replaced. I am VERY hard on tires. HeHe. Spinning, sliding, ETC. These tires took a beating and lasted well enough I am buying them again.

I am thinking about putting theses tire on my Ultra Classic how will they hold up on a heavier bike?
A shopper on Mar 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I like how they feel on the road, but as far as longevity, I can't say for sure as I've only had them on since Nov. They seem to be wearing well so far.

Sticky and reliable
So first of all there's only two manufacturers that make a rear tire that fits my 2012 wide glove. At least that I've found. That being said the scorcher is a great tie. I ride it like I stole it and they've never let me down. Just wish they would last more than 5500 miles. However i'm sure the lack of mileage has a lot to do with my riding style.

No experience with this tire only the brand. Bought the rear tire for my Honda. It's unfortunate they don't make the size for the front.

Smart buyers buy Michelin’s
1960 was my first experience with Michelin’s , they were on a Police car near the Montana/Canadian border.

Tire imprints on fresh snow are very revealing, after moving off the wet snow and onto cement it is very obvious the Michelin tire had nearly twice the contact on the cement then the police car parked next to me bearing standard winter tires.
I have been a fan of the Michelin tire for many years.

So far very happy
So far these tires far exceed the Dunlop OEM tires on my 2016 FLTRU. I ran Michelin Commander II tires on my 2013 FLTRU and I think I like the Scorchers better. Have not ridden on wet roads yet but the dry road grip of these tires is incredible. Only have ~500 miles on them so far so we’ll see how many miles I can get out of them. If they hold up like the Commander I will be very happy!!!
