Pirelli Angel GT

The Pirelli Angel GT is the newest addition to the Italian tire manufactures lineup. Boasting 15 percent more mileage than the Pirelli Angel ST without sacrificing performance.  Features

  • Ideal for sport riders looking for increased mileage without sacrificing grip and traction
  • Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) tires provide best-in-class for mileage and grip
  • Rear tires feature new Bi-compound formula improves cornering traction.
  • "A Spec" rear tires feature a reinforced, 2-ply carcass.
  • Improved wet grip.
  • Tubeless
  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ mph

Between the price and the reviews. They sound like the tires I want, but the real test is when the rubber meets the road.

These tires seem to be one of the better options for the Ninja H2SX SE. I'm hoping the A-spec carcass doesn't let me down.
DeLeon A on Jan 11, 2020
I just love Pirelli tires. I've ridden on Diablos and Angels. I love road trips, so the Angel mileage is phenomenal, cornering, no problem. rain, no problem. I've bought two or three other tire brands - I'm sticking ;) with Pirelli.

I had a Bridgestone Battlax T31 and got 4300 miles on the rear. I was hoping to get longer mileage so I am going to try the Pirelli Angel GT A Spec. The Pirelli's cost more, but if I get longer miles before making a change then it may be worth it. Depends on how many miles I can get using Pirelli. I ride a FJR 1300, 640 lbs dry wt.
Paul S on Sep 18, 2019
Pirelli is the only tires I will have on my bike. Great performance & the longest life tire I have ever had.
Kelby B on Sep 17, 2019

Great all around tire for my CBR1000f. It's a heavy sport bike and these combine great handling, feedback, and tire life. I've run Dunlop and Michelin previously. This is the first tire I've found that worked well enough in every category for me to buy a second set.

I have had good results with this tire on the rear of my 1994 BMW R1100RS. Michelin does not make a rear to fit the rear of my bike so I have to run two different brands to get the mileage I want.

These A-Spec Angel GTs get me almost double the mileage of previous sport touring tires I've used for my FJR1300. I buy 2 fronts to wear out 3 rears. Those 5 tires will get me 24k miles. All other brands I get 4k miles on a rear tire, vs 8k (or more) with these. I hope they stay in production a long time.
Don G on Apr 1, 2019
Needed a replacment for the stock tires, and these come highly recommended, as I don't use my bike as a dual sport.

About my 3rd set on a 2005 VFR800 - take a couple of long trips per year, and doing track days, and the tires perform great for both - I get 10k miles per set; replacing annually.
Ted J on Mar 16, 2019
Mostly because I’m used to them. I’ve run them on several bikes. They’re surprisingly grippy for tires that consistanty get around 5000 miles. I usually wear the rear slightly faster than the front but I always replace them in pairs.

What does "A spec" in the tire description refer to?
Anthony C on Feb 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question! The A spec will mean that the tire is a dual-ply carcass for Touring Models or heavily loaded 2 up riding. I have a 2001 Harley duce how do they hold up with Heaver bikes?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. These tires were designed to offer a higher mileage life, these tires were also designed for sport bike applications. Since an HD Duce is much heavier than a typical sport bike the results might not be the same. 2011 ninja zx6r , a spec or standard for my bike?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I highly recommend the Pirelli Angel GT. This is my second set. The dual compound on the GT is extremely competent, in that you barely notice the transition from full up to full lean. Traction is exemplary in dry conditions and are equally competent in the wet. They are so good, you don't think about them when riding. Feedback when cornering or aggressive braking is noteworthy. You're going to trust them.
ME850B 150 80B 16 RR GL1500 What is the experation dat of this tire?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, we are not able to guarantee that but we do know most if not all our tires are usually within a year of the manufacture date. We do not stock large amounts of tires at our location so most tires are shipped directly from the tire manufacturer's closest warehouse to you. This would be the freshest stock they have on hand that is being shipped from these locations. We, unfortunately, we do not have a way to verify which date you would get on your tire. All tires sold by BikeBandit.com are well within the manufacturer's suggested shelf life for tires. I have a 97 CBR1100XX with Givi hard bags, can and do I need to use an A-spec rear if I have a regular carcass on the front already?
I am only replacing the rear because of a puncture, and the front is still quite new.
Can they be mixed?
Michael C on Oct 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Michael, thank you for the question. For the best results, tires should match but it is definitely possible to mix them. What kind of tire construction does it currently have on the rear? I would stick to that set up... Poor mileage
I ride a Yamaha FJR 1300 w/o the travel bags (98% of the time). I got only 3008 miles from these Pirelli Angel GT's. I got 4240 miles from Bridgestone Battlax tires...that were less expensive too. Also, at the end of the life of these tires, the front was extremely hard to turn into corners. The Michelin's I ordered are so much more responsive from the get go it was unreal.

Too early to assess wear but handling and ride are greatly improved over prior front tire. Some of the benefit might be from matching tire maker and compounds with the rear.

These are my 2nd set since owning my bike, a 2005 BMW K1200S. I'm about ready to mount them, though my old set is still going strong with me putting over 7k miles on them, no idea how many miles were put on them by the previous owner. Great longevity, plenty sticky, I ride hard and have pushed them without hesitation, viva Pirelli, viva Italia!

Great over all tires
These came as OEM on my 2017 Triumph Trophy. Great handling and comfort. Just replaced after 13,299 miles. The front still had several thousand miles left on it. The rear was done.

Simply will not use any other font tire. CB1100 based in Hot Springs AR. Twisties are literally as I make a left out of my garage. We ride the Dragon tail and BearTooth along with lots of Arkansas and Tennessee...about 8,000 hard miles per season. There is no substitute for grip and this tire delivers.

Surpassed the reviews on the internet.
Tire life with me: I've owned the tires now for about 2500 miles.

Reason why: CanNOT begin to explicate just how thrilled I am in having bought these tires. First reason why I purchased them was bc of a reviewer stating he had gotten 9500 miles out of his. I had gotten 11,100 miles out of my OEM tires so I equated those two numbers.

Warmed them up for about 200 miles.

Riding experience: They grip as if THEIR life depended on it! Sure, one cannot readily tell (as far as being me a neophyte is concerned) just how much they're holding onto the road when in high speed corners as when you're in a low speed corner. I have taken a certain turn at 30mph before kind of nervous and with these tires I'm questioning myself, "this is the fastest I used to go!!!!!!!!!!!"? At those low speeds and cornering hard, one can definitely tell exactly what both rear and front tires are doing. Here's what they're accomplishing for you: A) they hold the line you put them in. Nothing more, nothing less. B) as you are leaned in (hard), you can actually feel the rear tire dig into the pavement and adjust itself to the conditions. So obviously at higher speeds all that is happening at milliseconds but at lower speeds, these tires "introduce themselves", apprising the rider that he/she is safe.

Their lean angle is remarkable in which I, on my 2019 Ninja 650, I have to now scrape pegs in order to get their full use and potential.

Definitely will be buying another set.
