What is tire designed for intermediate or hard pack? what is depth of tread?
JJ on Apr 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. The rear has 21/32" tread depth and the front has a 15/32" tread depth. Pirelli states that this is a Intermediate-Hard designed tire. Great tire - my 2nd one!
We ride in a lot of sharp rocks in Middle Tennessee and a lot of other tires temd to shed their knobs rather easily. Not this Pirelli!! KBS

Awesome Tire
I am an experienced and aggressive rider. I use this tire in the desert and woods on both my 300 2-stroke and 525 4-stroke. Wet or dry it is excellent. It has a little taller profile than some and consequently rides smoother on my sore wrists.
The traction is ultra predictable in all conditions. Slippery roots and rocks no problem, it hooks up and goes even once the knobs are rounded off. I have sharpened the knobs with a knobby knife to where over half the knob is gone and down to maybe 1/3 of original knob height, still works wonderful.
I often get over 1200 miles on a rear before I swap one out. Every time I am tempted to try another tire, I always find it lacking compared to the mt-16. Price very reasonable too !
