Firm grip and.....
Supreme style! I decided to move away from the last tires on my scoot and was hearing about all the Pirelli hype. Well folks it's not hype, it's the truth and so are these tires. A huge plus for me was the BIG lettering on the side wall for me to paint pen white for that running white wall look without the white wall and the sporty style of the letting when not moving. Form, function and style!

Impressed with this tire!
I purchased this tire to replace my rear tire on my 16 heritage. The Dunlop had 8200 miles on it and was worn out. Got this one on in September and it is now February. I ride every day and have over 5k miles on it now with no signs of wear. Holds in rain which is what I was looking for. Great tire and am putting one on the front soon. Will not run any other tire again.

Bike rides and handles as it should. I’ve ran Dunlop’s all my life. Never again, as long as this tire is still available. Unless they change the tire. Like Dunlop did with the old style Qualifier, that was my tire for years. Thank you for that Dunlop! Otherwise I may have never known just how good these Pirelli Mt 66 Route tire really are. Now on the mileage of these tires. I don’t know I’ve only have ran them about 500 miles. But I hope that all the reviews I’ve read on the mileage is accurate. If so I will be pleased even more.

Great price for these.
I honestly made this purchase based on price. They date code on tires were older but that's common when they are discounted. Tires are very nice and ride well on my 2014 Triumph Speedmaster. Actually made the ride softer than when I had the Metzler's that came on the bike new. very happy so far with purchase.

I have a 07 Suzuki M50. I use to run Metz ME880's but had problem in wet with them. I have used these tires the last 2 times and they hold good in wet weather. This last one wore down a little sooner than I wished, but I'll trade a couple thousand miles wear for a secure feeling on wet roads. Got appox. 6 thous with about a thou left. But going on a week long ride need more tread than that.

Correct air pressure f0r 14o 9o _15?

Can you tell me please what the difference in these 2 Pirelli MT66 tire numbers are.

130/90-16-67-H-biasply-tubeless
vs.
130/90-16-73-H-biasply-reinforced-tubeless

Specifically, what does the 67 and 73 mean. Also how is the 2nd tire reinforced as compared to the 1st one.
Doug on Oct 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for writing in Reinforced REAR tire is high load rated tire, as compared to other 130/90-16 size tires. The 67& 73 represent the amount of weight the tire can support. 67 is a load rating of 677 pounds (LBS) and 73 is a load rating of 805 LBS.
If you ride with a passenger and or with luggage, the reinforced tire is ideal.
The types of materials used and the construction is modified for the higher load limits.
If you need any additional support, please call Sales 888 339 3888 or 619 623 1660
I have 180/70-15 tire and have 3/4 in. clearance from belt drive gaurd , can I put a wider tire and what size will work??
Shane on Mar 18, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Good question! When going up in tire size the most usually recommended is a max of 10mm wider, being in your case for example a 190/70-15. You will have to take some measurements to see if you can accomodate a wider tire. It will increase the width by 5mms on each side of the tire and your rear swing arm.
I’d like to purchase a set of these tires for my ‘08 Suzuki Savage. I’d like to have raised white letters, is it possible to purchase them here on this site?

My husband put a set of the MT66 on his 1984 Harley Sportster. It's been 1 year and the front is still good but the rear is bald.
I do ride with him about half of the time and we only ride recreational and probably have about 8000 miles on the tires. Is this a good life span for a tire? He seems to think it wore out to soon.
Barbara on Jan 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! This would be a good average mileage for your application. If you wanted longer life than this you may look into another style tire. If you need help making a choice please feel free to contact us.
I bought a 1979 Honda CM400T and it needs a new rear tire. My manual recommends a 4.10S18-4PR. What's on the bike right now is a 130/90-16. I'm trying to figure out what the original tire size is and which tire I should order.
Harry Honda on Dec 12, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. My research material shows the rear tire on the 1979 CM400T to be a 4.60x 16. The 4.60x16 is equivelent to a 120/90-16 or a 130/90-16. The 180/70 say's it's a tubeless tire but the stock tires I have are tubed is there going to be a problem useing them?
Steve on Jul 8, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your Question! You would have no problem running tubes in a tubeless tire.
I ordered one of these for my '09 VN900 and the invoice says tubeless, yet this wheel requires a tube type. No option for selecting one or the other.
Is this tire tube/tubeless dependent on application?
Thanks
NMFORDMAN on Jun 13, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! Even if it is a tubless tire, you will need to run a tube if you have spoked rims.
Your website lists two tires of the same size at two different prices...100/90-19 for $65 and for $72. They both have the same speed rating. Which is correct?
null on Jun 11, 2012

I am planning on putting the MT-66 100/90/19 on the front of my 2009 Yamaha 650 V-Star Custom. My question, is there any problems using a tubeless type tire with a tube?
LUKE on Jun 7, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Good question! No, you can run a tube if preferred in a tubeless tire for extra support.
I need a front tire for my 2003 Concours, the factory says it should be a 120/70-18, this Pirelli MT 66 has 1 listed for the front but only says 3.00-18 blackwall H bias, my wheel is 3.0, will this tire fit correctly & what the heck size is it as far as "120/70", 110/80 or what? I plan on getting the rear tire which is 150/80-16 because I would like a matched pair.
bill on May 4, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question. A 3.00-18 is a 90/90-18 tire. A 120/70-18 converts to a 4.25-18.
Looking for replacement tires for my new '84 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk and was wondering what would be a good size. Also, do the load index have to match with OEM tires? I think OEM tires have a load index of 56 for rear tire but these MT 66 are in the 70's. Thanks!
Jorge on Apr 25, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! For the front you will want the size 100/90-19 and the rear is size 130/90-16 and as long as the load rating is greater you are fine.
I have a 150/90-15 rear tire on my 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 88 VN1500. Can I up-size to a 170/80-15 on the same rim without any problems? If not, can I up-size to a 160/80-15
Where does this tire is made?
Ganot on Apr 10, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! You could most likely go to a 160/80-15. If you want to go bigger you'll need to measure the clearance in your swingarm.

What is the difference between the front 150/80 16 tire and the rear tire that is the exact same size?

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! 130-90-16'' is the correct size for your bike.
The rear tire on my '99 Suzuki VS800GLX Intruder is a Bridgestone tube tire. This is required because the Intruder has spoked wheels. I've got the size picked out (140/90-15), but the Pirelli version is a tubeless tire. I know you can still use a tube with a tubeless tire, but can I reuse the tube from a same size Bridgestone tire?
Aaron on Feb 21, 2011
BEST ANSWER: New tubes are strongly recommended, even required by some installers. The old one conformed to the old tire and may have thin spots that will rupture in a new tire. New tubes are cheap insurance.
Can you run a tube in the MT66 130/90-16 even though it is a tubeless rear tire? Which tube?
Frankie on Sep 26, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! BikeBandit.com does not recommend this in anyway but many of our customers run a tube in a tubeless tire anyway with no issues. There is no specific tube for this application.

BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question. That will be a 90-90-19 for your front tire.
