Wanted a soft compound tire that would hookup hard on the street. Also to help the bike stay firmly planted while taking the curves quickly. These work really well on the Gen 2 Yamaha Vmax.

Good, long lasting tire with no vibration and they stick well, just as good as the top dollar tire.

Will the 200 50 17 fit 03 gsxr 1000?
A shopper on Feb 21, 2018

The order page on your website doesn't seem to differentiate between a soft and super soft compound rear Shinko 003 Stealth tire. I see two different prices for a 200/50/zr17 W but neither designates which compound it is. I prefer the super soft compound. Is it the $150 one?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The ultra soft rear Shinko 003 Stealth Motorcycle Tire in size 200/50-17 is part # 1633891.
Tire choice for track day and occasional road use...

Hi, I'm looking at the Shinko 003 stealth tires for track day and occasional road use. I have a Ducati M750 with 120 60 17 and 160 60 17s. Will the harder Shinko 003 be OK for the track (as the soft is not available in the 160 60 17 size) ? would you recommend a different tire ? or would you go for a soft front and regular rear in the 003 ?

Thanks
SJEE on Jan 18, 2010
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question. We are not listing a Shinko 003 style tire in 160/60-17. We would not suggest using two different model tires for the front and rear. Another Shinko model that we would recommend is the 010 Apex Radial which is available in the 160/60-17.
Compound difference

Hi.

I want to know what is the difference between the soft and super soft compound.

and what would you recommend for more street usage than track.

Thanks
Javcolin on Oct 21, 2009
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for your question! When your ordering the Shinko 003 Stealth Motorcycle Tire you would want to go with a super soft for track days but if you do mostly street riding you can go with a soft compound and that would work out great for you.

Shinko 003 on Ninja 650, a great combination.
I have been running the 003 on my Ninja 650, that I street ride, and drag race. The light weight carcass, works great on this bike.
Grip, handling and durability, are a very good match for this bike. I highly recommend these tires.

Best tire for money and performance on dragstrip
I buy Shinko Stealth 003 tires because they work well on the dragstrip and are very reasonably priced. Bikebandit is my go-to site for fair pricing and items availability on hand.

Excellent
After having pilot power 2ct, pilot power 3, and more. I'll return to these. Super sticky, smooth ride. Awesome. Price doesn't mean quality apparently.

Awesome tire
Put these tires on my cbr1000 that's geared for the 1/4 mile. After a minimal burn out to warm the tire up I'm pulling unbelievable hole shots. Luv these tires didn't get that great of miles from the tire but my riding style nothing last that many miles. To me a tire that hooks up like these I don't care.Boy at the track wish I never found these tires

I have a 2015 Hayabusa and been running Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V2 on it for quite some time now. I figured I would give these a shot. I think for the price .......... these are great and grip well. I get a little shimmy in the front during on high speed 190+ mph runs during deceleration. But so far no complaints. I can't see these lasting long at all due to the ultra soft single compound design but for the price....... I feel like I've been wasting my money on the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V2. I definitely recommend especially if you change your own tires and not married to a bike shop for maintenance. I'll write another review after I run these down and see how many miles I get out of them.

Exceeded expectations!
For the price, and based on other rider input, I expected to get "what I paid for" which is to say and average tire. Not riding a ton of miles I accepted the tires for I thought them to be. However, these Shinko 003 Stealths totally exceeded all expectations. I'm not a pro racer to the term "come to temperature quickly" doesn't mean much to me. What I can say is that on dry roads in otherwise good condition on a bike that is well tuned with an average pilot, these tires had good grip all the time, the inspired confidence at all lean angles, gave very good feedback regarding turn-in, hitting the apex, and powering out of a turn. There are quite a bit of switch backs and fast sweepers in my neck of the mountains and these tires handle them well. Will buy again.
