Shinko has proved to me over the past 10 years or so that they are a quality product at a bargain basement price. With this purchase, both of my running motorcycles will now be running on Shinkos. As soon as the old Ascot is is up an running, it too will be be wearing Shinkos.

Excellent tire, much better than the verge 016 if sticking to the pavement is important. I use these on my cbr1000rr in FL. I get 7,000 plus miles out of a rear tire and run them to the edge when I go to the mountains. They heat up fast and have yet to let me down!

Does anyone know how much mileage this rear tire is good for? Average easy riding.
don b on Jul 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Mine lasted 2 good seasons of riding, mostly mountains & back roads with a decent amount of gravel to boot.
i got a front tire. wanted to know, does the tread pattern surpose to look backwards or what. looks as if the the tire wouldnt shed water the in the right dierctions. just looks funny to me.
fatboi on May 16, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Help me out here: are we to assume you have the tire mounted correctly? If so, then the grooves moving from inner tire patch to outer is correct. As the tire roles forward the first portion of the tire groove to contact water would be the inner portion. This allows accumulated water (immediately in front of the tire contact patch, when any tires meet water on the road surface) a place to get squeegeed into and channeled to the outer tire and away form the contact patch area of the tire. If the channels are reversed by improper tire mounting then the water would be collected and channeled TOWARDS the contact patch, aggravating the amount of accumulated water trying to pass between the tire contact patch and the road surface. This would bring hydroplaning onset much sooner. I sure hope that helps makes things clearer. Rubber side down!!
tire availability

Awesome
I researched the tire before purchasing and they had great reviews. Now I have been riding on them for a few hundred miles and have been very satisfied. They handle slalom great and have had no issues. Have not used in wet conditions yet.

Do yourself a favor & try a set of Shinkos.
I was a Metzler guy when I had my R6, now I ride a 1700cc Yamaha cruiser & I've gone through one set of Shinko Verge tires, gotta say these tires have performed amazing & the tread wear is great too, definitely gonna buy another set & get em from bikebandit cuz these guys are awesome!!!

So far so good
Have about 200 miles so far. So to early to tell about longevity. But so far so good. Handles great. But then again I have it mounted on the front of my trike, a Boom Mustang.

Great tires great price still need to be broke in, but so far they've been a good choice!
I've only put a few miles on the tires, however the tires seem very solid and responsive, once they get past being broke in I'm sure they'll shine, they look great and I've had them to 130 and were quite steady, just no serious cornering yet.
