Ridden with shinko's before and was really happy with them. As well as price point and good reviews.

Shinko tires represent incredible value. I have had two sets of these on two bikes over the years. For the style of my riding, they are fine. Grip and wear is good and for less then the price of a Pilot Road 5 back tire alone, I get the set with these. The dual compound is great for me as I do some distance riding in addition to some mountain riding.

I have bought several Shinko tires and they have all lasted well and provided excellent traction. I wanted to try this dual compound tire to see if it wears as well as the Raven.

I've had very good experience with Shinkos. I have had older motorcycles that use the 712 tires. They have excellent cornering performance and really long life. I thought I'd give this model a go on my new 690 Duke. The original Metzlers only lasted less than 3,000 miles/3 months. I'm more used to around 8,000 miles from my Shinkos. Maybe they're a little heavier with all that extra tread but commuting would really suck if I had to replace tires every 3 months!

I purchased a rear shinko verge and am very very happy with the performance and you cant beat the price
EKO on Dec 14, 2017
Good reviews, and wanted a high performance tire with good value, since I just lost a rear Dunlop Road Smart with good life left because of a nail and local shop wouldn't do internal patch. Like the dual compound construction.
Daniel D on Sep 26, 2017
I got a nail in my rear and replaced it with what a local shop recommended. I wanted to find a matching front and Bikebandit is WAY cheaper than that shop, plus they offer road hazard.

These tires had very good reviews for the price. I have had most of the tires that reviewers had replaced with these tires, so I was comfortable with their reviews.

I have enjoyed previous Shinko tires on my VFR800, and seeing these dual compound tires, I had to give them a try.

How wide can I go on my 2009 Yamaha R1? I would like a Shinko tire. I would like the widest possible.

Better than the Short Lived Metzler
I’ve had great luck with Shinko tires in the past on my touring bikes. I fit the Verge on my new KTM 690 Duke because the original Metzler Sportec wore down to the cords in 2900 miles. That’s about a third the mileage I get out of Shinkos with no difference in traction or handling with a significant cost savings. I’m not put off with a Japanese tire, I don’t understand why these aren’t more popular. I guess it’s because they don’t sponsor any race series. Good thing, otherwise they would have to charge more like the other brands.

So far, so good!
First off, let me say I've only mounted the rear and put about 250 miles on it so I cannot attest to longevity at this point. But it has lived up to my expectations in regards to feel and grip. Not an aggressive rider...but spirited would be more like it! Easily rivals the BattleAx it replaced and hopefully will last a little longer. Depending on lifespan, I would definitely go this route again!

Great tire from Shinko.
Working great so far. Good corner transitioning and grip. Will see how long they last and if the wet performance is as good as they say.

Pretty darn good for the money.
So far I'm pretty pleased with these tires. I've put about 450 miles on them doing some spirited riding. They feel very planted to me.

Love the verge
Few months ago I purchased the verge for my rear tire and honestly it was for the price and positive reviews on BB. So when it came time to get a new front tire there was no doubt I would be buying another Shinko verge and both tires have served me very well and wear seems to be normal. Would also like to applaud B.B. for I ordered the tire on a Thursday nite and it was on my doorstep Friday morning all with free shipping wow

Suddenly I have a new bike!
Worth the money twice over. I tried to persevere with my old tires but would have dumped them a long time ago if I'd realized how much these (cheap) new tires enhanced my riding experience.

Highly recommended.

Bike Bandit had a great price and they arrived at my doorstep in TWO DAYS! Can't beat it!

Great Tire!
Mounted myself on my 2002 RC51, no drama there. I am pretty abusive to tires, compounded by 115 degree Vegas summers and these tires are holding up great. Much lighter weight than the 010 Apex tires they replaced and much smoother as well. Have run tires from all major mfgs and these are just as good, if not better than any "major brand" and cost a ton less. Can not speak to wet traction yet as there hasn't been any rain here since i got them on. I'm about 1000 miles into them and they still are holding their shape and not squaring off with about 50/50 commute and twisties.

Amazingly smooth!
I ride a Triumph Daytona 955 and although I am not an aggressive sport rider I have found that these tire have incredibly smooth and controlled yet lively turn in and grip at least as well as the Q2's they replaced with excellent feed back and a neutral feel. I haven't used the Q3's so I don't know how those compare. I have only about 500 miles on them but they are holding their shape in the middle of the tire so far and seem like they will have a decent amount of miles to them. I do my own mounting an balancing and in my opinion the construction and design of the carcass is excellent.
