I tried a set of the Shinko 804/805's last summer for a super hot 8 state adventure that took me through the Utah BDR and the Colorado BDR. The tires were awesome in the dirt, tracked well in the sand (as good as they can on a fully loaded Triumph Explorer) and handled everything else in between. This was just over 4K miles and still had 1 to 2K left in them after. Buying again as I prepare for another adventure this spring. Love them!

Larry P on Feb 9, 2019
6 month tire. Great on road and off road. As it stands I road this set for roughly 5 months and got about 5 thousand miles. Nothing short of spectacular but for what the tire is this is pretty impressive. I will most like switch to a more road biased tire as these can get a bit choppy at 3/4 life. Great grip in the rain, dry dirt, and road. Overall, after this set I will step up the price to get tire that lasts a bit longer. I buy these mainly for the awesome look, life, and the Shinko price.

I find these tires to be the right blend of off-road aggressiveness and wear longevity for Adventure touring at the best price. These wear just as well as the more expensive European brands. I had the Shinko front tire on during the AZBDR and it was great so when my Mitas rear wore out I replaced it with a Shinko expecting it to not last as well but it has. I am happy.
Bryan R on Mar 31, 2018
Great reviews on YouTube and seems to fit my riding style. Also cheap enough to replace often due to their quick wear on-road.

See FortNine's review online "Best Adventure and Dual Sport Motorcycle Tires of 2017"

I choose this tire based on budget, practicality, and overall reviews. I wanted a tire that would work in on wet roads but also allow me to take my bike off road. According to reviews these tires are capable of both. I hope they live up to the review in terms of wet performance.

I've gone through two sets of EO7's and loved them; just want to compare the two to see what will be on my bike next winter. Had I been sure I was going to take a trip from the northeast to the southwest this summer, rather than comparing the two, I would have opted for the EO7's. I've run Shinko 705's coast to coast and back in the heat of summer, so I'm not worried about the quality of the products they offer!

I ride a 650 Dual sport as my commuter, and offroad whenever I get the chance. I ripped the center knobs off of my 705 Shinko rear, so I'm trying the 805 to see if it's stonger

I have 3000 miles on a 100/90-19 on my Tiger 800. I was adding a few PSI's the other day, when I noticed TT on the sidewall. Its a TL rim. It's listed as TT on Bike Bandit. Is this a typo? Or does Shinko okay the use of its TT on a TL rim? I have no issues with it except around 10PSI air loss every 6 weeks or so. No biggie. I think this is an amazing tire and want to get another set, but not if there is any risk in using a TT on my TL rim. Thanks!
Ashley J on Jul 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. I double checked with Shinko and did confirm that the 100/90-19 that it is a TT style tire. This happens a lot and many do run tubeless with tube type tires and vice versa. I also have these tires on my BMW F800GSA and love them. I've ridden in all types of terrain and it performs! is this a 50/50 type tire?
A shopper on Sep 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes I would call it a pretty good example of a 50/50 tire. I commute every day on them on pavement comfortably, only feel a little bit of vibration at very slow speeds from the knobbies hitting the ground. On the trails these things are great! My Vstrom can keep up with dirt bikes and real dual sports quite well on gnarly trails.

The one word of caution I would give is that these tires can be hard to balance. For the first few months I rode them, I would get a wobble between 35 and 40mph, even though I had them professionally balanced. It seems to have subsided, but apparently this is something to watch out for with most knobby tires.
Can you use a tube in the 130/80-17 tire, my KLR is a tube type rim and I have to run a tube?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have run tubes in other Shinko tires such as the 700's on a fully loaded / built XR650L and they performed very well and without issue. The 805 especially is shaped large so that tube choice may be of concern. I ran a set of 804/805 on my R1200GS for about 7000 very rugged, demanding miles off road and on from Southern Oregon to Spokane, WA to Park City Utah, to Golden, CO and back to Spokane where I changed them out for less aggressive Shinko 705's front and rear... 804/805 handled wonderfully off road in the Tetons and reasonably well on the highways and byways of WA, OR, CO, UT, MT, ID & WY... Make sure your tubes are not stretched too thin to make work in these excellent tires... I also used "Ride-on" sealant in my tubeless config on the GS as a precaution - BikeBandit also has this in stock - super fine tune balances the tires and provides a modicum of puncture sealing if it;s needed!
How do they handle in snow? I'm looking for winter tires
Chris S on Oct 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Chris, thank you for the question. Shinko has these listed as M+S Mud and Snow Rated Tires. Based off of customer reviews and YouTube videos I have seen on these exact tires, I've determined that they perform exceptionally well in street, dirt, mud, and snow conditions! Mileage is really good and the way the tread is designed the tire grips well in all conditions. MABDR with Shinko 904/5's
My previous tire has been Shinko 705's on my Moto-Guzzi Stelvio 1200, however I find myself more and more often in the woods or sketchy roads with loose soil or mud. Having the MABDR ahead of us, we decided to change to 805's. 805 works well on loose dry gravel, soft surfaces, however in plain mud the rear has a tendency to slide somewhat sideways. Did not bother me and nothing a blip of throttle would not cure. They are a bit noisy on highway and you will know youre on knobbies due to slight vibration. About what I would expect from knobbies. I've on my second set of 804/5's and the tire last long enough for my wallet and taste. Surprisingly good traction on twisties, never had an issue with these. Not even on hard rain. Will buy definitely again.

The Best Cheapest Commuting & Dual Sport Tires Around
No other tire comes close to these, for the money. Almost enough grip to knee drag on dry roads, but great off road on gravel, Dirt, grass, and sand (although the front is a bit vague on very soft sand or mud)

Exceptional Tire!!!
I put a set of Shinko 804/805 Adventure Trail tires on my 2008 Suzuki V-Strom 650 before setting out on a 4,000 mile trip. I chose the 804/805 because my original plans were to spend more time off pavement. I only ended up spending maybe 200 miles of the 4,000 off pavement. These tires handled all conditions superbly. I am overly impressed with the ability of these tires to provide confidence in all conditions. I used Seal All inside the tires for balancing and I noticed very little vibration. Tires tracked straight. Tar snakes were not an issue. Monsoon like rain inspired confidence. Dry curvy pavement these tires felt like they were glued to the asphalt. These tires in the gravel provided excellent braking capabilities compared to previous(less aggressive) tires I have used. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with these tires and will absolutely be purchasing again. I spent many miles at 90 MPH and I have to say that at 4,000 mostly asphalt miles the rear tire is nearly finished. I know that I could easily extend the life of the tire in average everyday riding conditions. Front tire appears to be at least 50% with same mileage. LOVE these tires.

Great tire for the money.
Had these tires in deep sand, deep loose gravel and regular gravel roads and they did fine. Really loud over 50mph but the vibration is not so bad. They are pretty sticky on pavement and do very well in the wet. The only negative in my opinion is that the front is heavy and it dives into the corner. Didn’t put enough miles on them to tell you about longevity but so far so good.

Need to brake in first
I have a set of these on my R1200GSA. Honestly when I pulled out of my driveway I thought something was broke but they keep getting better and after the first 100, 150 miles they are rock solid on the road and dirt and not very loud for such an aggressive tread. I would buy again

Amazing
I expected noise from these because of the aggressive tread but these are quieter and more stable on the road than my street tires. I have a decently heavy Tiger 800XC and they've been great so far. Off road there's just a little read end movement because of the lateral channel tread but they grab like crazy going forward. I've taken them on twisties at speed that even surprised me....

Great tire except for muddy conditions
I used the front tire on my dr 650
For dual sport riders that ride in rocky... gravel.. Moderately deep sand...and paved or pot holed rough pavement as well as winding curves...wet or dry pavement at any speed they are excellent.always great performance with long life even in rugged terrain if this is all you ride 5 stars
But in really deep sand our super wet clay or black mud with wet grassy loose soil at high speeds you might find yourself picking grass from your helmet....
Great in all categories except super wet muddy conditions

A good alternative for the tkc80 and anakee wilds for my 2014 r1200gsa.for the money, hard to beat
I installed these one day before doing the mabdr. I was looking for something cheaper than the tkc80, knowing that they would be worn out after the trip. I traveled a total of 1690 miles and the tires are about halfway worn. It rained the first two days and they hooked up great. We tent camped and the bike was loaded heavy with gear.
